Originally, the Limes had an overall length of 550 kilometres, 59,4 kilometres of it are located in the Ostalbkreis. You can have a look on (partially reconstructed) parts of the old wall, several watch towers and the citadel of Ala Flavia in Aalen.

Castle Baldern is situated on a mountain crest near Bopfingen. It gives an insight into the glamorous life of 18th century noblemen. One of the castle's attractions is one of Germany's biggest weapon collections.

 

Convent Kirchheim
The former cistercian convent of Mariä Himmelfahrt upon Kirchheim in the Ries is a gem. Visitors can, for example, recuperate and relax while walking in the convent's garden.
